Dr. Jeremy Holloway, Ph.D., MA, Professor of Educational Health, Equity & Justice at New Mexico Highlands University and Founder of Tellegacy®, has been appointed as an official member of the National Institute for Dementia Education (NIDE) Standards of Excellence (SOE) Council.

The NIDE SOE Council was created to bring together leading practitioners, researchers, and educators to advance the mission of NIDE: strengthening dementia education, training, and advocacy. As part of this distinguished body, Dr. Holloway joins a group of nationally recognized experts who advise on key projects, review publications, participate in podcasts, and provide practitioner insights that shape dementia education worldwide.

The Role of the NIDE Standards of Excellence Council

The Council serves as an advisory group to NIDE, supporting efforts to:

  • Develop and refine dementia education and training resources.
  • Provide practitioner and leadership perspectives to ensure initiatives meet real-world needs.
  • Review and contribute to publications and media that expand awareness of dementia care best practices.
  • Engage with healthcare systems, senior living organizations, and communities to advance the quality of dementia education and advocacy.

Chaired by Joshua J. Freitas, Ph.D., M.Ed., BC-DEd, the Council includes professionals from across disciplines such as cognitive neuroscience, nursing, social work, senior living operations, and innovative therapeutic practices.

Dr. Holloway’s Contributions

Dr. Holloway brings a unique perspective shaped by his work at the intersection of health equity, social determinants of health, and intergenerational connection.
